COMMON QUESTIONS

Q: How long will delivery take?

Once your order is ready to be shipped we will send it via Royal Mail next day special delivery. A signature will be needed so we will do our best to notify you of when you should receive your order so someone can be there to sign for it.

Q: Do prices include VAT?

Yes, all pricing includes the 17.5% VAT rate. This way you know the true cost of your order and no nasty surprises when you’re ready to pay.

Q: What is your cancellation, refund and return policy?

We do require a 50% non-refundable deposit upon placing an order with us. Should you cancel your order this will not be refunded. As a standard policy we only make refunds and exchanges if goods are faulty. For more information about this please read our terms and conditions.

Q: How environmentally friendly are you?

We strive to do what’s best when it comes to the environment and if there is an eco alternative we will always try to use it. We offer 100% cotton paper and envelopes made from recovered tree-free fibers and recycled paper and envelopes. We use digital presses which don’t use water in the process and create virtually no make ready waste. The printers we use are FSC & PEFC Certified (FSC and PEFC are both organizations established to bring people together to find solutions which promote responsible stewardship of the world's forests.). In our office and studio, we recycle and reuse as much as we possibly can, in addition we use refillable desktop ink cartridges, buy eco office supplies wherever possible and use energy saving light bulbs, amongst other efforts to “do our bit”.

Q: Do you accept international orders?

Yes! Please contact us and we can discuss this further.

Q: Do you gift wrap?

Our products come lovingly packaged and sealed with our name on it as standard. If you would like to use our custom gift wrap service, then contact us and we can discuss all sorts of possibilities!

Q: How do I pay?

When you’re ready to place your order, an invoice will be sent for 50% of the full balance. When your proofs have been approved the remaining balance is paid before printing proceeds. We accept bank transfer, PayPal or cheques. At the moment we don’t have online payment facilities but hope to in the very near future.

PRE-DESIGNED WEDDING & SOCIAL STATIONERY ORDERING

Q: How long will my order take?

If ordering from the pre-designed collection, lead-time would be around 2-3 weeks.

Q: What is the order process?

E-mail info [ @ ] denotestationery.com or fill out the form on our contact page and we will get back in touch with you as soon as we can to discuss your needs further. (If you are interested in custom designed stationery then please read our custom process.) We will send you a quote along with our terms & conditions. Once you have approved these, an invoice will be sent for a 50% non-refundable deposit of the total order value. This can be paid by bank transfer, PayPal or cheque, production time or artwork cannot proceed until the deposit has been received. You will also need to supply the correct information needed for the designs, such as names, venue, dates & times, wording etc. We then create your invitation suite to your specifications and send you your first PDF proof/s (as an Adobe PDF) within 3-5 business days to approve. We recommend reading the Proof checklist, this will help you to make sure all is as it should be before approving. Once the final proofs have been approved, then the remaining balance (including any extras) of the order will need to be paid before printing & production is to proceed. You should receive your order within 2 weeks from final proof approval. (We will do our best to notify you of when you should receive your order, so someone can be there to sign for it.) Please note a supplementary rush fee is chargeable for urgent orders.

Q: Can I order pre-designed samples?

Yes, samples are available for most designs. Please contact us and we can arrange this.

Q: Do you offer proofs?

Yes. Included in your quote are three PDF proofs (as an Adobe PDF) and two rounds of revisions. Any revisions made after this are charged at £50 per proof. (Please note that any major design changes made after the first proof will also incur a charge of £50 per proof.) We do recommend a printed hard copy proof of your stationery if there are concerns with paper or colour. These are charged at an extra £35 per proof.

Q: Can I change the colours to match my wedding theme?

Not a problem. We understand that some of the colours we show on our site may not be to your tastes or match your wedding scheme. We’re happy to change colours that suit you or happy to discuss this with you further if you need help choosing a colour.

Q: Can you help me with wording & etiquette?

We’re here to help. We understand that families have changed considerably over the years and it can be difficult to know how to word invitations to keep everyone happy at the same time.

Q: What paper options do you offer?

Our pricing is based on 350gsm white 100% recycled paper or 300gsm 100% white cotton paper. Both come with matching white envelopes. However, we do offer other colour options for our envelopes. If there is a particular card stock you would like, or if you are looking for something a bit different, then please contact us to discuss what options are available.

CUSTOM STATIONERY ORDERS

Q: How long will the process take?

For custom designs approx 1-3 months depending on the complexity of the job. If you have a tight deadline we can discuss your time restraints and aim to work with it.

Q: What is your custom process?

E-mail info [ @ ] denotestationery.com or fill out the form on our contact page. We will then contact you to arrange the best time for a consultation. The consultation can take place by phone, e-mail or in person to discuss in detail what it is you are looking for. We’d like to get as much information about you as a couple and about your wedding dreams and ideas. We want to create something that truly reflects you and your day, from fabric swatches and an old photo to your favourite film or book. Think about your favourite moments that you have shared as a couple. All these help towards creating something truly personal. This is really the fun and exciting part and we want you to be involved in this process as much as possible. Once a concept has been chosen we will need a week to carefully put together an initial quotation with production lead times and contract. On approving and signing the quotation and contract, we will require a 50% non-refundable deposit. You will need to supply us with the correct information needed for the designs, such as names, venue, dates & times, wording. Within two weeks we will present you with your design concept and will work with you to revise the concept into your final design. Three rounds of revisions are included (any revisions made after this will be charged at £50 per proof). Make sure you read our Proof Checklist for tips. Once the final proofs have been approved, the remaining balance (including any extras) of the order will need to be paid by bank transfer before printing and production is to proceed. Please allow enough time if choosing custom stationery, it can take anywhere from 1-3 months depending on the complexity of the job. (We will do our best to notify you of when you should receive your order, so someone can be there to sign for it.)

Q: Can I order custom samples and can I use an existing custom design?

Samples of previous custom jobs are available, however we like to make sure our custom jobs are never repeated twice so our clients feel that they have something truly unique to hold onto. We are, of course, able to gain inspiration and use elements from previous custom jobs to incorporate into your own design.

Q: I live in another country. Can we still work with you?

Not a problem. The world has become a small place to live in, so no place is too far away, as long as we have enough time to work on your project.

TIPS FOR ORDERING

1. It’s worth ordering extra invitations and items in-case of last minute guests and surprises or mistakes. We recommend 15-20 extra. Ordering reprints later can be expensive.

2. Order your stationery as early as possible, especially for destination weddings. To avoid stress invites should be ordered before the wedding and sent out no later than 6-8 weeks before the wedding date. Stationery for destination weddings should be ordered and sent 5-6 months before the date. ‘Save the date’ stationery should be ordered and mailed 6 months in advance for a local wedding. and ordered and mailed 8-12 months for destination weddings. If your wedding is booked on a public holiday your invites should be sent a month earlier than the times suggested. If using a calligrapher you should add an additional 2-3 weeks.

3. Remember to count couples and families (with children under 16 ) as one invite. Don’t make the mistake of ordering as many invites as there are guests!

PROCESS TIME

1. For pre-designed collection approximately 2-3 weeks. For custom designs approximately 1-3 months, depending on the complexity of the job.

PROOF CHECKLIST

1. We recommend you print out your PDF proof on a desktop printer to get an idea of scale and content.

2. Does the proof include all the items you have ordered?

3. Is the font correct?

4. Is the spacing of the text and alignment correct?

5. Are all the spelling, grammar and punctuation correct?

6. Please make sure that abbreviations aren’t included in the copy.

7. Are you happy with the scale of your invitations?

8. Have you finalised the stock for your invitations?

9. Anything that is not on your proof will not be printed.

10. Please note that colours will appear differently on your on screen PDF proof than when printed, as light is lit behind your design on screen. Also be aware to not go by colours printed from your desktop printer. If you are concerned about colour then we would recommend that you have a hard copy proof printed. (Although there will always be slight variations with print due to the nature of the printing process.)

11. Get someone else to check through your proof. They may spot something you haven’t.

12. Remember once the proofs have been approved by you. Denote Stationery cannot be held responsible for any misprints.
