ABOUT DENOTE STATIONERY

We are a small but perfectly formed design studio, inspired by childhood memories of design and creativity, of cutting and pasting to create something beautiful.

My sister and I would sit with our grandfather at the dining room table for hours, experimenting with colours, textures, fabrics and ideas whilst our grandmother pottered around us, delicious smells from the kitchen occasionally distracting us from our masterpieces.

We were like little magpies, searching for shiny treasures and we recycled everything from Easter egg foil to fabric swatches. We would forage for materials, our greatest finds coming from the great outdoors and though the years have passed and I now sit in my studio, no longer at my grandparents dining table, some things never change. I sit surrounded by these precious memories and discoveries, stored in jars and drawers, bundled in boxes and baskets and I incorporate some of these into my custom designs and gain inspiration from them for future ideas.

The concept of using natural and recycled materials has never left me and as much as possible we use 100% cotton or recycled paper or similar materials and friendly techniques, thus with minimal impact on our world but maximum visual impact.
